書面表達 (參考范文)
Dear Nancy,
I am writing to share you my dream.
Our homeland dreams to restore the former glory, which inspires me to recall my dream — to become a doctor, saving lives and shouldering a burden of low-expense medical treatment for distant poor villagers.
Being a motivation and goal, dreams make us determined, diligent and devoted as well as making life more meaningful. However, it is quite plain that obstacles cast a fierce eye on me alongside. Therefore, giving full play to strengths and minimizing weaknesses in current preparation for the entrance exam is my first challenge I am to face consciously. Also, I am fully convinced that sparing no efforts to offer toil and sweat firmly and consistently will contributes a lot.
I am in curiosity about yours and reply to me soon, please.
Yours,
Li Hua

W: I’ll take the cheaper seats, please.

M: Yes, he has. He sold it last week.
W: Has he moved to his new house yet?
M: No, not yet. He still lives here. He is going to move tomorrow.
W: When? Tomorrow morning?
M: Yes, I shall miss him.
W: He's a very nice person. We shall all miss him. When will the new people move into this house?

M: Hello. I’d like this guidebook please. How much is it?
W: All things are free here.
M: Oh, thanks. I'll stay in the city for one week. Could you tell me what places I should visit?
W: Well, there are a lot. Are you interested in islands, such as Lantau?
M: Islands?
W: Yes. There are a lot of interesting things you can see—old villages and churches. And the scenery is beautiful. Take this booklet. It tells you more.
M: Thank you very much. That’s a great suggestion.
W: You are welcome.
Text 8
W: May I come, sir?
M: Yes, please. You're Jane, I suppose?
W: Yes, sir. I was told to see you at your office after class.
M: Oh yes. Well, I was told that you have had some trouble attending your English class on time during the past few days. Can I help you in any way?
W: Uh... yes. I really hate to be late for classes, sir. But I have to deliver twenty bottles of milk to twenty houses every morning before I come to school since both my parents fell ill two months ago.
M: Oh, I am sorry to hear that. But don't you have any other people to help you?
W: I am afraid not. I am the only child in my family. I have to do something to help my family to pay for my school fees.
M: I see. I think we can do something to help you. What if we give you a scholarship?
W: It's very kind of you, sir. It would be a great help to me.
M: Would you tell me where you stand in your class?
W: I am always on the top 10% list, sir.
M: That's great. Everything will be OK, little girl. I will give a week's time to stop your delivering milk.
W: Thanks a lot, sir. I won't let you down.
Text 9
W: Jim, did you hear that they’re going to make a new film in our neighborhood? The building manager sent out a letter saying our street will be closed for a whole week.
M: What? That's terrible!
W: Maybe we'll get to see some movie stars!I hear some top actors are in the film.
M: I think I'll write a letter to the mayor.
W: Wait... you aren't happy about this?
M: Not at all! I remember the last action film that was made nearby for two weeks. It was such a headache for all the residents – streets closed, people all over the place. My company had invited some important people to a meeting. They were from out of town, but all the hotels were booked.
W: Well, it'll be shorter this time…
M: I doubt it. When they say they're filming for a week, it takes them at least ten days to get out of here. They have to set up, film the movie, and then take everything down again. It's a big deal.
W: I’m sure that's why the mayor wanted the movie to be filmed here — because it’ll make a lot of money for the city. Think of how much the city will make from all the food and hotel rooms the movie people will pay for… not to mention all the local people they’ll hire to do the extra work.
Text 10
My wife and I spent two weeks in London last year. We went there in the autumn. We think it is the best season to visit England. The weather is usually good and there aren't too many tourists in October.
We stayed in a small hotel in the West End. It was convenient as we did most of our sightseeing on foot. Taxis were too expensive, we couldn't understand the bus routes, and my wife didn't like traveling on the underground. She said it made her feel sick.
We went to look at the places which all tourists see. We saw Buckingham Palace and the National Gallery. We went shopping in Oxford Street and spent too much money. What we liked most, though, was going to the theatre. We don’t have the chance to see such wonderful plays at home. A lot of people say English food is very bad. We didn’t think so. It's true that most of the restaurants are French or Chinese, but we had some very good meals.
In fact, we enjoyed our holiday so much that we have already booked again for this year. We’re going to take our umbrellas, though, I’m sure we’ll need them sometimes.
