M：Hi, Catherine. You’re getting ready for tomorrow’s lessons, aren’t you?

W：Oh, yes, but I’m a bit nervous. I don’t know what will happen in class or how I’ll get along with my new classmates.

M：I can understand. Just take it easy. You’ll make a lot of new friends very soon.

W：Thank you. I’ll try my best to get used to my new school life as soon as possible. By the way, what time does the first class begin?

M：A 8 o’clock. But before that we have 10 minutes to hand in homework and then 20 minutes for morning reading.

W：So we must get to school before 7:30, right?

M：Right.

W：And how long does each class last?

M：45 minutes, with a 10-minute break.

W：Well, I hear that lunchtime is nearly 12 o’clock and I think I’ll be starving by then.

M：Don’t worry. There’s a 30-minute break after the second class, so we can buy something to eat. Or you may take some cookies and fruits to school.

W：That’s good.

W：No, what is it?

M：We’ll be getting a raise soon.

W：That’s good news. I have been in the hope of that for a raise. But when will it be starting?

M：The middle of next month.

W：How much more will we be getting?

M：Twenty five cents an hour.

W：That’s not bad, not bad at all. How did you hear about it?

M：One of the officials told me.

W：Why haven’t they announced it yet?

M：They are still talking to the manager and asking for some extra vacation time.

W：That’s fine. But when are they going to talk about making our work more interesting?

M：That’s a good question.

W：I get tired of doing the same thing all day every day. I’d like to be doing something different sometimes.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention, please? I’m sorry to tell you that the police have asked us to take everyone away from this building as quickly as possible. A shopping bag possibly containing explosive material has been found in one of the dressing rooms back stage. Experts are on their way to examine it. We ask you to leave quietly and orderly. There is absolutely no need for fear. Please make your way out by Exit One. Cross the street and wait outside the supermarket at the corner. Leave your seats row by row as directed by our attendants and give any help necessary to anyone around you, especially elderly and disabled people. If you have children with you, make sure you are not separated from them. Hold small children firmly by the hand. If you see any doubtful objects, do not touch them but inform one of our attendants as you leave. Do remember to put out cigarettes. We appreciate your cooperation and hope you will be able to return to your seats shortly and enjoy the last act of the play.
